The general context:

  • The promotion of the projects will open new areas of research which will attract more specialists to the new directions of scientific research and will stimulate critical thinking and independence.
  • Additional training provided comes to complement the skills of researchers, provides basic infrastructure to European standards, increasing the long term competitiveness of the Romanian economy, development and better use of human capital in Romania, according to the National Strategic Reference Framework 2007-2013 ensuring at the same time trained human resources' need to adapt more easily to a dynamic labour market.
  • Training through research is a crucial element in the Lisbon Strategy, which should give prosperity, sustainable development and competitiveness, elements that are provided by the development and qualification of human resources.
  • Projects meet the university's strategy to contribute to promoting technological, social and cultural context of a knowledge-based society and economy, expanding and improving investment in human capital, adapting education and training to new competence requirements.
  • Financial support provided to PhD students ensures conditions for their dedicated participation to doctoral programs, and also access to European education and research resources by transnational mobility, ensuring the integration of Romanian research in the European Research Area.
  • The projects support common European objectives, regarding increased labour market participation of a highly skilled workforce and adjusted in accordance with Human Resources Development Operational Programme 2007-2013. Special attention is paid to factors that stimulate sustainable development: a high level of education of the population, creating higher value activities to increase innovation capacity.

The main training needs of PhD students:

  • free access to labour market areas in which they want to specialize;
  • free access to specialized information and integration in leading research teams;
  • ability to be ready to meet at any time any imposed requirements;
  • access to mainstream information and the necessity to contribute to developing and supplementing it;
  • access to modern and quality education, according to the present and future needs to ensure research quality and integration of specialists in the international scientific community;
  • material support during the entire cycle of doctoral fellow for the entire creative energy to be directed toward innovative training, research and creativity.
